For companies, shops and practices

Someone who already knows how yours is set up

Most small companies don't have an IT problem: they have a memory problem. Nobody knows what machines there are, who has which licence, whether the backups actually work or what was changed last year. That's what we fix first, and it's why we're called what we're called.

What the fee doesn't cover, plainly. The fee covers the work, not the hardware. Quoted separately and approved beforehand: new parts and machines, network cabling work, third-party licences and software projects.

Method

How we come into a company

Always the same way, and the first two stages cost nothing. If you see the report and decide against it, you keep the report.

STAGE 1

Audit

One hour at your office. We look at machines, network, backups, licences and access, and write down what's actually there.

STAGE 2

Report

What's fine, what's at risk and what's urgent, with the cost of each. No scaremongering, and priorities in order.

STAGE 3

Getting up to date

The urgent things get fixed and the logbook gets built: inventory, access, licences, backups. Quoted separately and only once.

STAGE 4

Monthly fee

From then on, monthly maintenance. No lock-in: if a month goes by without it being worth it, you cancel with an email.

Services

What we cover

Inside a contract or as a one-off, with a fixed quote.

Networks and Wi-Fi

Cabling, switches, access points, separate networks for guests and for the till. Wi-Fi that reaches everywhere, and a business network that doesn't hang off a provider's router.

Servers and NAS

Shared files, permissions per person, access from outside when you need it. Set up to run without you standing over it.

Backups

A local copy and a copy off-site, and the important bit: we test that they can be restored. A backup nobody has tested isn't a backup.

Workstations

New machines set up the same way for everyone, with their software and their access. A new employee starts working on day one, not day three.

Equipment supply

Computers, laptops, monitors, networking and printers. We tell you what to buy with the real prices in front of you, and we leave it installed.

Security and access

Passwords properly managed, two-factor, permissions in order, and what happens when someone leaves the company.

Start-up plan

Are you starting a business?

You open in a month and suddenly you have to sort out computers, internet, Wi-Fi, the till system, an email address that isn't Gmail, backups and a website. Nobody explains it, you buy blind and you end up paying twice. This is for that.

WEEK 1

We come and look

We visit the premises or the office and talk about what you'll be doing. No cost and no obligation.

WEEK 1

A written plan

What you need, what you don't need, what each thing costs and in what order to buy it. At a fixed price.

WEEK 2

We set it up

Machines, network, Wi-Fi, email on your own domain, automatic backups and the website. All working the day you open.

AFTER THAT

A month with us

The first month of support is included, which is when all the questions come up. After that you decide whether to carry on.

One workstation

Sole trader

You've just registered and you work on your own.
  • A computer chosen and built for what you do
  • Email on your own domain
  • Automatic backups configured
  • A one-page website with your details
  • Invoicing up and running
  • One month of support included
2 to 5 workstations · the most requested

Premises

Bar, shop, hairdresser, workshop, small clinic.
  • Everything in the Sole trader plan
  • Network and Wi-Fi done properly, not the provider's router
  • Guest Wi-Fi separated from the till network
  • Till system and peripherals installed and tested
  • A shared folder between the machines
  • One month of support included
6 to 15 workstations

Office

Accountants, studios, practices, distributors.
  • Everything in the Premises plan
  • Server or NAS with permissions per person
  • Off-site backups, tested
  • Accounts and access in order from day one
  • A full inventory handed over in writing
  • One month of support included

Hardware is billed separately, at cost plus a margin you can see. We give you the list with what each item costs; if you'd rather buy it yourself, that's fine and we'll still set it up. What we charge for is the work and the judgement, not marking up the price of a hard drive.

Software and automation

If you do it by hand every week, it can be automated

Quotes written out three times, invoices sorted by hand, messages answered the same way every time, data moved from one program to another by copy and paste. We look at how your day actually goes and automate the repetitive parts, with tools you can afford and without tying you to anything strange.

  • ✓ Websites and shops for businesses
  • ✓ Integrations between programs you already use
  • ✓ Automating repetitive tasks with AI
  • ✓ Custom applications when nothing fits
  • ✓ Projects at a fixed price
Questions

What companies ask us

We already have an IT person. What do we need you for?

If it works, nothing, and we'll tell you so in the audit. Where we usually help is when that person is a friend who comes when they can, when nobody has ever documented anything, or when the backups exist but nobody has tried restoring them.

What happens if one day you leave or close down?

You take all the documentation with you: inventory, access, licences and configurations, in a format any other technician can read. It's yours from day one. A supplier who ties you down because only they know how it's set up isn't a supplier, it's a problem.

There are two of you. What if you're both busy?

That's what the logbook is for: we both know every client and either of us can handle an incident. And it's why the response times are written into the contract and are conservative: we'd rather promise 8 hours and be there in two.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Not on the small plan or the big one. You cancel with an email and a month's notice, so there's time to hand everything over properly.

We work with client data. How do you cover that?

We sign a data processing agreement before touching anything, as the GDPR requires. Access is per named person and is logged, and we don't look at, copy or discuss your files.

Can you do just one specific job, without a contract?

Yes. Set up a network, replace machines, fix a fault. A fixed quote and that's it. The contract is an option, not a toll for us to look after you.
